    Brittany at Solidcore Fenway is one of their best coaches. Here, where the aroma of espresso gives way to gentle incense, instructor Meredith Wadsworth channels the metaphysical musings of Baltimore's beloved Sarah Cook with a distinctly Boston twist. During a recent morning flow, Wadsworth's teaching style evoked Cook's Katonah-inspired wisdom while guiding students through warriors and triangles with architectural precision. Her commentary on "house levels" as metaphors for consciousness and bodily "currency," hallmarks of Katonah yoga philosophy, might sound esoteric to the uninitiated, but somehow makes perfect sense when you're balancing in tree pose three stories above the bustling North End streets. The space itself is a study in mindful design: industrial-chic shelving houses an arsenal of cork blocks and charcoal blankets with the organization of a Zen monastery. Sunlight streams through tall windows, creating natural spotlights on the gleaming hardwood floors, while Buddha and Ganesh maintain silent vigil over practitioners' attempts at pyramid pose. SOMA's early risers can start their practice as dawn breaks (6:00 AM on Tuesdays, for the truly committed), and night owls can flow well into the evening. The studio has thoughtfully included showers for the post-practice dash to office or aperitivo, this is the North End, after all. Wadsworth's extended arm holds and perpetual pep talks might leave you wondering if you've wandered into a philosophy seminar disguised as a workout, but that's precisely SOMA's charm. As their entrance sign proclaims "this is the way in," and indeed, whether you're seeking physical challenge or Katonah enlightenment, you'll find your path here, assuming you can climb the stairs. $3 mat rentals.     Great class and impressive facilities. I appreciated the full locker room and amenities for those coming before or after work. The class was a lot of fun and the moves were pretty easy to follow even as a first timer. The sequences were repeated which I appreciated. The class was evenly divided between trampoline bouncing (cardio, though not super intense) and 🔥 strength moves using resistance bands. Reminder to the mamas out there… there is trampoline bouncing involved so prepare accordingly (you know what I mean!).

    Chela is awesome! She is such a charismatic Zumba instructor who makes class enjoyable and challenging. I’ve experienced my fair share of good and bad Zumba instructors, and Chela definitely embodies all of the good. Really liked this class. Lots of space and natural light in the fitness room. I’ve done Zumba many times before so it wasn’t too hard to follow along with minimal instructor cues. Zumba is all about moving and having fun so there’s no worry about getting all the moves right.     Great instructor, clear cues, awesome music. She said she was newer but I wouldn’t have known. I do wish they wouldn’t let people into class late, as it is disruptive. Unless they’re going into the back row (or actually follow instructions the whole class…), it’s too much. Overall lovely flow though and perfect balance of heat in there

    My first barre class! Good for beginners, lots of stretches during class and in between sets which was nice. Class went by super quick, it felt like 30 minutes. Fairly easy to follow along, but some of the moves can be confusing for the pace and first timers.
